The Tour

The BOAT TOUR is a brief history of time from 365 million year old Tetrapods to Marinas.

The tour is in completely enclosed Valentia Harbour (seasickness not a problem) (See Picture)

The magnificent scenery and features are described from the boat.

Tetrapods: – It is the earliest fossil footprints recorded in rock of animals evolution
                      Moving from water onto land, the first amphibian. (National Geographic fame)
Settlements: Monastic Settlements - Church Island.
                      Vikings – Begnis Island.
                       Ring Forts – Cahergal, Leacnabuaile.
                       Ballycarberry Castle – Cromwell’s soldiers destroyed.
                       Landlords – Glanliam House, Knightstown/Foot.
                       Famine Villages and emmigration after famine.
Employment: Slate Quarry – can be seen overlooking Lighthouse
                       Fishing
                       Cable Station – connection to USA “1800’S underwater internet”.
                       Marine – Lighthouses, Valentia Marine radio and marinas.
